Your heritage trail start from LAMAN TUN SRI LANANG with a view across the road of the mouth of the Segget River. LAMAN TUN SRI LANANG is the pen-name of the author of Sejarah Melayu or the Malay Annals. Proceed to Sentral Police Station,built in 1914, this colonial building was the third to replace the original ‘Pos Police’ on the Bukit Polis around which mushroomed the seedier side of life.
Next to Kampong Ah Fook @ Jalan Meldrum and Jalan Siu Nam. Political oppression in China and the dream for a better life drove hordes of Chinese towards Singapore and eventually Johor Bahru. In many aspects the Chinese and their various clans lent the most brilliant luster. Proceed to Johor Bahru Railway Station built in 1930, it is the oldest railway station in Johor Bahru. Proceed to the Oldest Ancient Chinese Temple was built in 1930 by a group of Chinese community leaders led by Tan Hiok Nee, a famous Kangchu (River Lord). A Visit is not complete without a walk through Jalan Trus. The serenity though was broken by the cacophony of the Johor Military Forces band and marching practice.
Passing the Gurdwara Shahid Temple, house of worship for the Sikh community, Indian Enclave, house of worship for the Hindus, Jalan Dhoby where the famous old-fashion bakery shops located. Proceed Jalan Tan Hiok Nee. Your heritage trail ends at Bukit Timbalan, the hill overlooking the harbor of Sungai Segget was identified as a strategic point right from the beginning of the founding of Johor Bahru.
